Description

My contest entry for *neko-of-lotherian's deity contest. It's a really cool idea: you use a generator to create a god or goddess. I had lots of fun. :D

Description
This cruel goddess of animals takes the form of a young woman. She is very short and has an athletic build. She has wavy, black hair worn in a style that resembles a peacock's tail. Her deep-set eyes are gray. She has tanned skin. She is usually portrayed as wearing a plain suit of armor. She carries a satchel of books. She is always surrounded by animals.

The Goddess
I left out many details but then put in lots of my own.
I loved the description of the hair, although I left out the wavy part for simplicity. So her hair is tied in loops at the back of the head, like the tail of peacock. The loops are adorned with turquoise ornaments and violet jewels, like the "eyes" of peacock feathers. Then she has real feathers below her hair to mirror the effect.
Instead of the suit of armor, I designed her some clothes that matched the theme more. The cloth attached to her wrists are meant to resemble wings. The rest of the clothes represent her wild personality. Notice the hems are ripped and torn, and the leggings are shredded. Her clothes are also somewhat revealing. The pattern of greens are meant to be like the the forest, and the way light shines trough spring leaves.
I also excluded the satchel of books. I don't imagine her as the reading type. x3 And there's no need to crowd the drawing any more.
She is, of course, surrounded by animals. The lion and the bird of prey are predators. Sometimes the goddess can be vicious herself. However, there's a also a butterfly and a couple of songbirds. She can be fragile and sensitive, as well. The rat? That was just for fun. :D However, in her presence, animals that normally hunt each other interact peacefully.

Overall, I'm very happy with this drawing. The paper was really nice. The cool grey provides a better backdrop than stark white. But it was very light-weight (only 24 LB!). I think the colored pencil applied weighs more than the paper xD.
I also like the goddess. I'll probably use her as a character, but I haven't named her yet.
